ONE LESS RUN A SUCCESS

ONE LESS 5K 2012

One of my favorite runners!

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported my favorite and most passionate cause; the orphans.  The race was a success and I hope everyone enjoyed the day.  Our numbers for the 5k race were up from 65 runners last year with this year having 95 runners.  This does not include numbers from the 1/4 mile and the Family Fun Run.  I don't have an official amount of money raised yet, as we are paying a few last small bills, but I think that it is safe to say that we raised at least....

(DRUMROLL)

$5,000

all for Suzanne

This sweet little girl deserves a future.  She is currently in a mental institution where she absolutely has no future.  Please help find Suzanne's forever family!!!  If you have a blog or FB page please post about her.  It is amazing what social media can do.  You can learn about Suzanne here.

I have a gazillion pictures from the race.  I appointed myself as the official photographer...hmmm.
I took so many.  It was hard not too.  So here they are....

The 1/4 mile race!!
This is the fun one to watch.  The little kids all did so great!

And she's off (and she may never come back)

Anya is super excited...I am not sure anyone had more fun than she did that day.

One of our winners, Clark Lewis.

Avery won 3rd place!

And last, but not least, a sweet little girl who was willing to stay home during the race so mommy and daddy could work.

Thanks for racing and helping us make it one less....

ONE LESS 5K
147 Million Orphans Worldwide. Racing to make it One Less!

Orphan Sunday

ONE LESS RACE IS TOMORROW!!!!!

Come out and support our local ministry
as we race to make it ONE LESS!

Last year, our local ministry team raced for ALICE.

rteu-update2

Last year, Alice was fatherless all because she has Down Syndrome.  This year Alice has a family who loves her and is working hard to bring her home.  Our race helped change Alice's future.

WE MADE A DIFFERENCE

This year we are raising funds for Suzanne.  Suzanne has already been transferred to a mental institution and is waiting for her family to save her life.

I will not leave you as orphans,
I will come to you.

John 14:18

I know Suzanne's family is out there.

God commands us to care for the orphans.

These children (every last one of them) deserve so much more than wasting away in an orphanage or mental institution.  This is not the plan that God had for their lives.  They are a blessing and a gift from God.  How do I know?  Because God has allowed our family the opportunity to have an orphan no more in our family.  Sometimes people tell me, "she is so lucky to have you all", but that is just not the truth.  The truth is that WE ARE THE LUCKY ONES.  She is not a burden, but a blessing.  A blessing that you cannot put into words.  She will not be a burden to my two oldest "typical" children when we may not be around, but a blessing to them also.  Their hearts will be turned to the special need orphans because of their adopted sister and their biological sister.

OUR BLESSINGS!!!!!

SO COME OUT TOMORROW!!!

COME JOIN THE FUN.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RUN OR WALK FOR THAT MATTER TO JOIN IN!!!

BRING A CHAIR AND ENJOY THE MORNING

IT'S THE COOLEST PLACE TO BE!!!

WE'LL SEE YOU THERE!

(if you are local and are interested...race begins at 8:00 am.
Just come to the De Queen football field)

Our little artist has been.....

SICK

NOTHING HORRIBLE

Anya broke out in a fever and an all over body rash this week.  She missed a day of school (her teacher got some rest that day) and her daddy took her to the doctor.  We still don't know what caused the rash, but with some antibiotics, skin creams, and 2 days of rest she was feeling well enough to paint a picture.

And then when she was all done, she enjoyed some Cheetos with her brother!

Since I have been on blogcation, I tend to do that almost as much as the Russian Court Judges...

Anya has also had her first birthday party ever!!!!

Hoping to post pictures next week!!!!!!!!

Thanks for checking on us.
